The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has instructed the Sessions Court to resolve the petition of PTI founder and Bushra Bibi for suspension of their sentence in the Iddat Nikah case within 10 days.

The decision was delivered by Justice Mian Gul Hasan Aurangzeb following a hearing on the petitions.

The court has also directed that appeals against the sentence should be disposed of within a month. During the hearing, Bushra Bibi's lawyer, Salman Akram Raja, expressed his surprise at the sudden transfer of the case, requesting a set timeframe.

Opposing the transfer, Khawar Manika's lawyer, Raja Rizwan Abbasi, argued against moving the case from the appeal additional session judge to the session judge. Abbasi noted that Khawar Manika had previously objected to the judge, and the court had rejected this request

Lahore High Court's directive aims to expedite the legal proceedings and ensure a timely resolution of the case.
