    SP Diamer, Sardar Muhammad Shehryar Khan, has confirmed a devastating bus accident on the Karakoram Highway (KKH) near Chilas.

    The accident has resulted in the loss of 20 lives, while 21 individuals have sustained injuries, according to the latest reports.

    Efforts are underway to provide immediate medical assistance to the injured and transport them to nearby medical facilities. SP Diamer revealed that three of the injured have been transferred to Gilgit via road, while an additional ten have been airlifted to Gilgit by helicopter for urgent medical treatment.

    Meanwhile, eight injured individuals are currently receiving medical attention at the Regional Headquarters (RHQ) in Chilas. Medical personnel are working tirelessly to stabilize their conditions and provide necessary care.

    The cause of the accident remains under investigation, with authorities pledging to determine the circumstances leading to this tragic incident. SP Diamer urged travelers to exercise caution while traveling on the KKH and adhere to all safety regulations to prevent similar accidents in the future.
